This blog originated in January 2012 as a tool to keep track of my training for the Ironman World Championships 2012 in Kona, Hawaii. But the main reason actually was to keep me motivated and focused. Posting my goals and results online and visible to everyone kept me honest and hard working :)
A year later now (February 2013), my focus has switched from triathlon to ultra running. The main reasons for that are:
- Experience something new;
- Having a break from hard intervals and scheduled triathlon training;
- Workout and having fun being outdoors with my family;
- Ironman racing is ridiculously over-priced given our little income.
Hopefully, in the next couple of years we will move somewhere warm with an ocean close by so that I can give long distance swimming a try.
